Confluence of the Red River and the Rio Grande – Stephen Maurer

ADA Accessibility Notes

Restrooms, campgrounds and visitor center are fully accessible.

This high plateau north of Taos, NM, overlooks the dramatic confluence of the "wild and scenic" Red River and Rio Grande nearly 1000 feet below. There are bike trails plus the Wild Rivers Back Country Byway on the plateau and trail access to the rivers below for camping, fly fishing, and steep but rewarding hikes. The Visitor Center has facilities, books and information. Weekday use is very low and provides great opportunities for solitude plus one of the greatest views in the state.
