Road Apple Rally Route
The Road Apple Rally is the longest running Mountain Bike race in the United States. The routes of this world famous mountain bike race present a 15-mile loop for beginners and the traditional 30-mile Road Apple Rally Route. The routes run through the Glade Run Recreation area.
Climbing on the course is minimal, which makes the course fast and fun. The "Whoops" section recruits mountain bikers from all over year-round as riders swear they spend more time in the air then on the ground! Course riders will most likely run across other riders but as the area is vast and consists of multiple trails riders will not feel cramped by others. The terrain varies from sandy arroyos and packed trail to slick sandstone shelves and provides a greatly varied and beautiful view for riders!
Route Directions
The route is accessible from several locations throughout Farmington. One of the easiest access points is from Lions Wilderness Park. Lions Wilderness Amphitheater (5800 College Blvd.), sits at the start and finish line of the Road Apple Rally. From Pinon Hills Blvd. turn north onto College Blvd., pass Piedra Vista High School turn-offs following the "Lions Wilderness Amphitheater" signs.
Entrance to the park is a right turn off of College Blvd. To access the trails take a left turn, where you will see several dirt parking lots. The trail is at the end of the dirt road past the parking lots and ampitheater.
