Metate Room - Mesa Verde National Park
ADA Accessibility Notes
ADA Accessible
Colorful Native American artwork surrounds you as you enjoy an award winning, contemporary menu inspired by regional heritage foods and flavorings. The Ancestral Puebloans raised corn, beans and squash, gathered nuts and herbs, and hunted wild game. The Metate Room celebrates this culture, incorporating these foods together with contemporary favorites, sommelier services and an extensive wine list.
The Metate Room invites you to celebrate the culture and heritage of the Ancestral Puebloans with a dining experience that reflects the abundant natural resources of the Southwest. We are committed, whenever possible, to using local, organic and sustainably produced ingredients to keep our land as bountiful as when Mesa Verde was first inhabited.
In 2010 the Metate Room won the American Culinary Federation Colorado Chefs Association’s (ACFCCA) first-ever “Award of Culinary Excellence.” The Metate Room was one of six winners and the only restaurant located within a national park to receive the award. The culinary excellence awards are based on a variety of criteria, including menu selection, creativity, presentation, taste and the restaurant’s support of local Colorado cuisine. The award highlighted the Metate Room Restaurant’s involvement with “Colorado Proud,” a program created by the Colorado Department of Agriculture to promote Colorado food and agricultural products.
