Ghost Ranch offers rustic, comfortable housing accommodations reflective of its origins as a working ranch. All rooms are within walking distance of classroom buildings, the dining hall and library and other structures via dirt paths and roads. None of our trails, roads, paths or walkways are paved. Expect loose gravel. Some wheelchair accessible bedrooms are available and a limited number of golf carts are available for use by persons with special needs.
Ghost Ranch is on 21,000 acres in the beautiful Piedre Lumbre Valley. Home to Georgia O'Keeffe for 50 years, Ghost Ranch is in the center of what we now call O'Keeffe Country. The Ranch offers hiking trails, museums, horseback riding to guests who come for conferences, workshops, or by themselves for overnight retreats. Classes of all kinds are offered at the Ranch: wood carving, pottery, plein aire painting, yoga, silver smithing, as well as classes in spiritual development and personal growth. All people, from all walks of life, of all ages, all are welcome.
Ghost Ranch is located 135 miles north of Albuquerque, 65 miles northwest of Santa Fe, 35 miles beyond Espanola on US 84. From Albuquerque take I-25 north towards Santa Fe. You may take the 599 bypass to US 84/285 to save about 20 minutes of travel through Santa Fe or take the St Francis Drive exit. St Francis Drive becomes US 84/285 at the north end of Santa Fe. Once in Espanola continue through town to the Fairview/Riverside intersection. Turn left on Fairview to cross the river; then turn right on Paseo de Onate (US 84). Once on Highway 84, watch for the Ghost Ranch sign between mileposts 224 and 225 (approximately 14 miles north of Bode's Store in Abiquiu.
Ghost Ranch works with guests, staff and the local community to honor and preserve the land. Recycling both materals and water are built into the life-style of the Ranch. Ghost Ranch is committed to a series of annual classes devoted to preserving the planet. The goal of the series is to construct justice-centered, Earth-Honoring Christianities that promote interfaith efforts on common Earth issues.

Ranch Activities Available
Whether you want to spend the day under the huge old cottonwoods in an Adirondack chair, visit the museums, do research in the 24-hour library or hike the many trails, there is something for everyone at Ghost Ranch. With advance reservations you may take the Georgia O'Keeffe Landscape Tour and visit the sites where Georgia O'Keeffe walked and painted. The Landscape Tour can be enjoyed by van or on horseback. Lodging at Ghost Ranch fits the tastes and budgets of a wide range of visitors. Modern rooms with private baths on the mesa above the main campus offer a bit of seclusion and fabulous views. The main campus level housing includes rooms with private baths and rooms with shared baths, perfect for families. Once a dude ranch, Ghost Ranch offers dormitory style housing for the budget conscious. Three meals a day are offered in the dining hall with delicious food from local produce. Ghost Ranch cooks are all from the local area --- born and raised on Northern New Mexico cuisine.
