Spend a few hours at the Four Corners School of Outdoor Education’s Canyon Country Discovery Center located 1.5 miles north of Monticello, Utah. Our 48-acre campus is a great place to stretch your legs and imagination with hands-on learning stations, programs, and exhibits. Take a walk along the campus trails for views of the high plateau and the Abajo (Blue) Mountains. Explore our outdoor nature playscape and picnic pavilions, available at no cost for guests to enjoy as they travel through San Juan County Utah’s Canyon Country.

The Canyon Country Discovery Center is a science and nature facility, with indoor and outdoor learning stations. Developed for culturally diverse audiences, the campus allows children and adults to explore and discover the natural history and landscapes, people and places, land use and energy, astronomy, and water and climate of the Colorado Plateau. The campus has been creatively designed as a place-based facility with an informal science center, riparian area, visual art installations, nature playscape, classroom, night sky observatory, research lab, conference area, and cultural pavilions.
Environmentally friendly building materials, paint and products are used throughout the building.
Pet Friendly Notes
Leashed pets are allowed on the trails and in the picnic areas, service animals are allowed in the building.
