Aztec's Alien Run Mountain Bike Trail
Aztec boasts more than 30 miles of mountain bike trails, including the Alien Run, ranked among the more technically challenging and scenic single tracks in the Southwest. Routed near an alleged UFO crash -- hence the name -- the Alien Run can be navigated by a novice yet is immensely challenging for experts. In fact, the trail is the centerpiece of an annual mountain bike competition, held on the first Saturday in May, that attracts top riders from throughout the Four State Region and beyond. For information about the trail, contact the Aztec Visitor Center at (505) 334-9511. For information about the Alien Run Mountain Bike Competition, go online to www.alienrun.com.
