Interests and Areas of Expertise
I fell in love with Four Corners when I came here to work as a seasonal ranger at Mesa Verde National Park after college, and although I have lived in other regions, I returned again and again. Over the years, I have visited nearly every site on our website and map, some of them many times. Currently I live in McElmo Canyon, on the southwest route from Cortez, Colorado to Bluff, Utah. I hike with my dogs and ride my horses on the limitless web of trails throughout public land in this incredible place..
The many Native American reservations and pueblos throughout Four Corners each offer a distinct, experience for the visitor, and on the way to these unique places, you will encounter national parks and monuments, pass through landscapes that defy description and vow to return as soon as you can. Select your travel target for its authenticity and pay careful attention as you go there - it is both the journey and the destination that you seek.
