Doc Martin's Restaurant is an acclaimed dining establishment located in a registered historic landmark. A Taos tradition, the restaurant has earned multiple awards for our fabulous Regional New American fare. Executive chef Zippy White specializes in fresh local food with a splash of the southwest, incorporating chiles and produce sourced from regional farms and gardens. With over 400 wine selections, our world class wine list has earned Wine Spectator's "Best of Award of Excellence" for 22 consecutive years. Pastry chef Gayle Glanz offers sumptuous desserts that tantalize the senses and round out any Doc's dining experience.

The Historic Taos Inn is a leader in eco-friendly lodging. We have instituted a full-scale recycling program for the last 15 years. We actively recycle cardboard, tin, glass, aluminum, plastic, newspaper, magazines, and kitchen grease for use in employees biofuel vehicles. We call this full circle recycling and it has resulted in over 200 tons of materials not going into local land fills.
Our building is also authentic adobe in architectural style and maintains the traditional building practices of Northern New Mexico. Our sense of place in the historic downtown area and access to local art galleries and museums is also a tenant of being eco-friendly. We are proud to announce that we are also actively collaborating with the State of New Mexico ecotourism initiative as an approved lodging and dining establishment and are working with outdoor adventure partners and private ranches to have complete eco packages. This also includes partnerships with Taos Pueblo and local museums for cultural exposure.
Lastly we have worked very hard the last two years to cultivate a local food and farm to table growing program in Taos that we utilize as a food source for our foods at Doc Martin's Restaurant.
Our chef, Zippy White, has spearheaded this effort with our Master Gardener Carrie Moon. We have put in a kitchen garden on site with a fully heated green house. This allows us to grow our herbs and some greens/produce on site as well as fresh cut flowers for property usage.
We have also forged partnerships in the community with local farmers and CSA's to provide other foods we do not have space on site to grow. Most notable is our partnership with Tierra Lucero and the Taos Pueblo Red Willow Growers program. They have a farmers market with multiple heated greenhouses and provide us with local foods through winter and all seasons.
As you can see we have an extensive eco friendly lodge, restaurant and bar.

Carolyn Haddock is the local owner and has owned 7he Historic Taos Inn for more than 20 years.
The local ownership has allowed us to maintain our building to high standards with New Mexican styling and building practices as well as provide more than a hundred locals jobs each year.
