Rio Costilla Studio Tour

The annual Rio Costilla Studio Tour is held every September, the weekend after Labor Day.  Artists' studios in the communities of Amalia and Costilla, New Mexico and Garcia and Jaroso, Colorado are open to the public.

Situated in the valley of the Costilla River, and flanked by majestic mountains, these communities are home to farmers and ranchers, artists and craftspersons.  The scenery provides inspiration for gorgeous art including sculpture, paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, and furniture.  The river offers opportunites for flyfishing.  The mountains and valley provide many opportunities for hiking.

The studio tour is the highlight of this September weekend but plan to say a while and enjoy the outdoors too.  Accommodations are availalbe in the local vicinity.
