Pepperhead features Southwestern and northern New Mexican-style food made from scratch. Traditional recipes have been passed down over four generations and use local products whenever possible. Pepperhead also offers new twists on dishes made from local foods.

Pepperhead's menu features lots of local produce, and the specials feature local ingredients. For the summer, fresh salsas will be harvested from a rooftop garden, making good use of the restaurant's flat roof.
Locally or Family Owned Business Notes
Pepperhead is run by Tess Montaño and her father, Pete Montaño. She is a fourth generation restaurateur, and her grandparents are regulars in the summers. Tess was born and raised in Cortez, then left to go to college and graduate school. She returned in 2009 to open Pepperhead.
