Aztec's National Night Out Celebration

National Night Out, a unique crime and prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, takes place each year on the first Tuesday in August. Each time, the community gathers to celebrate local law enforcement and neighborhood crime watch groups as well as recognize the critical need for:

1.  Crime and drug prevention awareness;

2.  Supporting and participating in local anti-crime programs;

3.  Strengthening neighborhood and local business spirit;

4.  Sending law-breakers the message that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

National Night Out is an effective and inexpensive means to also promote police/community partnerships, which ultimately lead to building a safe community.  It is a great way to meet neighbors and local businesses and enjoy some good food, games, entertainment and become familiar with members of our local police force.

Aztec's National Night Out regularly showcases over 60 local businesses and nonprofits, and it regularly attracts over 500 citizens to the Minium Park venue. The event includes vendor handouts, contests, games, Native American dancing, and the celebration's signature doughnut eating contest.

Join us and help stand up to criminals!
